Tell That Story!
People use stories in a variety of contexts: in classrooms, in coaching others, and as a tool to introduce or explain new programs or activities to community members. In all of these circumstances, it is essential to “connect” with the listener—and storytelling provides a powerful tool for connecting.
This interactive session provides the neurological research base for the power of story and will help participants craft stories for these various applications in the most compelling way.
Session Overview
In this interactive session, Andy Black, PhD, will explore the art and science of storytelling. Questions addressed include:

- What is the neurological impact of storytelling on the listener, and how can I leverage that impact?
- Why is storytelling such an efficient mode for transmitting information and culture?
- What are the key elements of an effective story, and how do I “connect” through story?
- What kinds of situations lend themselves to "storytelling"?
