Workin' 9-5

“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” - Brené Brown

What you do and who you are sometimes become tangled into one - over time you become your role.

The inability to separate yourself from your role can negatively affect your mental and physical wellbeing; you'll become emotionally spent from putting work at the core of your life.
Devastating effects can follow if you become absorbed into your role or organisation as central to your identity. What happens when they fall away? How much control do we really have?

Who are we without our work?
While it's a good thing to find meaning in your work, it is important to remember that we are not solely defined by what we do or who our employers are.

I'll tell you the story of how I navigated many intense career changes while keeping connection with my self-worth. Exploring your idea of self can support your ability to remain flexible while navigating life's many challenges. You'll walk away with some simple, practical ideas of what you could look into, or help someone else look at, to unlink role and personal identity.
