Unlocking Data Potential: Microsoft Fabric for Software Developers
Every company aims to maximize the value of its data, extract meaningful insights effortlessly, and trust that those insights are accurate. In recent years, AI and machine learning (AI/ML) have gained significant prominence. So, whether you're a data professional or not, you're likely being encouraged to incorporate AI/ML into your daily work and apply it to the data within the systems you use
Historically, to utilize our data we had the Data Warehouse, life was good but it had its limitations, particularly around loading/storing complex data types. As data grew larger and more varied, the warehouse became too rigid and opinionated.
So we started using Data Lakes to store data, and tools such as Databricks to do our compute. Things were good, but we missed some of the good times that the Data Warehouse had given us. The lake had become too flexible, we needed stability in our life. In particular, we needed A.C.I.D (Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, and Durability) Transactions.
To address these emerging data challenges, various technologies and tools have been introduced, each claiming to solve all your big data needs while remaining simple and "easy for anyone to use." One of the latest entrants in this space is Microsoft Fabric.
In this session, we’ll dive into Microsoft Fabric—what it is, why it matters to you as a Software Developer, and how it can benefit both you and your organization in your daily work. We’ll explore how to consume and query data effectively, unlocking its full potential, including leveraging it efficiently with AI and machine learning (AI/ML).
