Session

Early Frameworks for Microsoft Fabric

In this session, we will explore the journey an enterprise embarked on for creating a data platform and a reporting solution that was rooted in Microsoft Fabric at the center of it's capabilities. Earlier this year, the Digital Team at Coles took on a journey to modernize it's tech stack and set up governance standards for it's customer-centric, rapid delivery insights platform. Attendees will gain insights into the challenges encountered while building a light-speed insights platform to complement it's hubs and warehouses. Building on these insights, we will delve into the specifics of:

- Utilizing Microsoft Fabric's shortcuts to create a decentralized yet governed data platform
- Leveraging mirroring functionalities to expedite the assimilation of data.
- The dichotomy of pull versus push stratagems in the dissemination of data.
- How we handled data sources sources behind layers of firewalls,
- How we managed virtual networks,
- Implemented real time reporting using event streams, KQL databases and data activators for active monitoring

This session aims to propose Frameworks for Fabric, that may help enhance your understanding, design, and architecture of superior data ingestion solutions with Microsoft Fabric, all while laying down guidelines that work for the new age of a SaaS based data platform.
