The Meetup Community & DevRel: Why your approach isn't working.

The goal of DevRel is to create a mutually beneficial relationship between the company or organization and the developer community. However, the corporate “quick hit” sales and recruiting mentality tends to rear its ugly head in the approach many companies and DevRel org take with the Meetup Community. Once it becomes clear that the technical Meetup community does not want your “product pitch” talk, many companies tend to kick the Meetup community to the curb as a poor ROI, while their "true colors" are revealed to all.
