Microsoft Fabric architecture

May people have heard about the Medallion architecture (gold, silver and bronze). When you start working with Microsoft Fabric is that really all you need to know about how to architecture your solution? The short answer is maybe, the long answer is probably not as there are many things to consider.

In this session we take an outset in the Medallion architecture and from there talk about different challenges and how to overcome them.

We will talk about how to organize us in Fabric. What workspace strategy you choose in Fabric will impact how you build your Medallion architecture and how you work with Fabric.

We will talk about DevOps. How you work with DevOps will impact how you build your Medallion architecture and how you work with Fabric.

We will talk about migration of older data warehouses and how that might impact the way you architect your solution. This includes how you address new opportunities that come with going from a relational data warehouse to a lakehouse.

At the end of this session the audience will understand better what architectural challenges there are in Fabric and what possible solutions there are. There is now such thing as one size fits all but adapting a thoroughly tested framework is often the most efficient solution.
