If you are a Power BI user, you might have noticed all the changes to the Power BI portal for the last year. Microsoft introduced Fabric as a part of the Power BI portal and renamed everything. If you continue to log into app.powerbi.com you don´t have to change anything and you can continue to use Power BI as before (besides the name changes). If you are curious about what Fabric is all about, then this is the session for you.

In this session we will talk about the top 5 (in my opinion) reasons a Power BI person might want to consider using Fabric together with Power BI. All of them can make you more productive or help you achieve things impossible with Power BI alone. We will go through them one by one and explain what they are and why they might appeal to the Power BI user.

The 5 things we will talk about are:

• Dataflow gen2
• Data Pipelines for copy only
• Snapshots/delta loads of data
• Direct Lake mode of sematic models
• Notebooks for complicated data sources such as web services

A Power BI user might be interested in one or more of these which might be an incentive to start using Fabric.

After this session the attendees will leave with an understanding of the fundamentals of Fabric as well as these 5 Fabric things which might help them get more productive.
