Coding for Fun: Keeping your own skills sharp in the age of LLMs
The acceleration of AI adoption in the Android development landscape is alarming, but what's more alarming is how easy it is to become dependent on these automated toolings.
We run the danger of de-skilling ourselves to models, and allowing our own skills to become dull. AI tooling is advancing at incredible speed, but it will always need supervision, and knowing where to draw the line between convenience and necessity.
This talk is not about how to write an AGENTS.md file. I'm not going to be advocating for AI tooling, instead I'd like to promote the love of code, and emphasising the community that has been built over the last decade. How important this is and how we can save ourselves from skill atrophy.
