The pursuit of software teams autonomy: How we created an Internal Platform in a growing company
During the last three years, Packlink's engineering structure has been rebuilding from scratch.
Just in 2020, our engineering team grew a ~60%. This couldn't happen without a new understanding of our DevOps culture and new ways to design a new organization for our engineering and product teams.
Starting from a topology of a single DevOps team, we designed the pillars of an Internal Platform organization and started a journey full of challenges.
This is a real experience without makeup or green paths.
All the lessons learned by introducing tools that directly impact our software engineering teams' dev experience, productivity, and ownership while evolving our cloud infrastructure in a context of pandemic and a complete engineering organization transformation.
