Lessons Learned from a Coding Bootcamp Instructor

The age of the average developer, and the number of years of experience for the average developer have been decreasing year after year. There are a number of reasons for that, but the implication is that more experienced developers are having to mentor and guide less experienced peers more and more.
I have been a developer for over 20 years, and a Coding Bootcamp Instructor for two, and I am always thinking on how to best convey to my students and peers some concepts that sometimes can be very abstract. I've learned many things along the way that I'd love to share with you. I will also talk about assumptions and mistakes I've made, so hopefully you don't have make them, or at least you are aware of them.
It is our duty to grow our profession, and I hope this session will give you some good ideas on how to become a good mentor.
