Modern software development and how we can safeguard digital sovereignty – A guideline

This talk looks at digital sovereignty from a software development perspective—how can we develop systems that ensure control without sacrificing innovation? Modern software architectures and good software engineering provide support here. Not black and white, but a clever combination and “Plan B” strategies.

Aydin shows how the individual components can be assessed in terms of risk, how to produce architectures that allow for a “Plan B,” where open standards can and should be used, and what PaaS, SaaS, and AI alternatives are available from European hyperscalers and technology providers.

The result is a guideline that provides participants with decision-making aids on how to maintain control over their software systems.
