In a world of mesh, data lakes, and lakehouses the data warehouse is still the centerpiece of many analytical solutions. In this session we walk through building a data warehouse in Microsoft Fabric from the ground up. To start, we will explain the basic architecture of the platform, so you understand how Fabric Data Warehouse is different from the other Microsoft SQL offerings. Next, we will create a workspace to get started then dive into data loading methods, transforming data with T-SQL, querying data, building reports directly in the browser using Power BI's Direct Lake mode, and applying security roles to the warehouse.

By the end of this session, you will be armed with all the information necessary to build your first data warehouse in Microsoft Fabric!
