JU - Moneyball for Developers: Practical applications of DORA4 metrics to mainframe development

Metrics are a key resource to use when trying to improve performance, whether for baseball players, students, or developers. In software development and application modernization, it is obvious that you must measure results to show progress, but determining what metrics to track can be tricky. The DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA) team was founded in 2014 and has published a set of 4 metrics that are quite helpful in getting started on the continuous improvement journey for mainframe software development.

In this session, we will learn 1. how each of these metrics applies to the development process, 2. How to set up your organization to capture these metrics automatically, 3. How to leverage the DORA4 metrics over time to communicate with the team and management about improvements and progress
