Human Centred Software with Accessibility and TDD

Most software is not human centred - as a result, the internet is now littered with inaccessible, unusable and umaintainable web applications.

The key to overcoming this is to embrace human centred approaches to software development such as TDD and accessibility.

Using a mix of live coding, theory and practical demonstrations of assistive technologies, in this talk we'll demonstrate how to bake accessibility and software quality in from the start, so that even your MVPs can be robust and highly accessible.

You'll learn about Microsoft Playwright's support for the accessibility APIs, the ins and outs of semantic HTML and ARIA roles, the axe-core testing suite and micro-test TDD. Together, they will help you maintain quality, accessibility, and a human focus as your code-base evolves.

Spend less time building better quality sites and make them more usable by more people.
