Tools for Resolving Difficult Conflicts in Open Source Communities and Projects

Conflicts inevitably arise in open source communities, whether big or small. They cannot be avoided. The important thing to focus on is what do community leaders DO when conflicts arise? How are they managed in an inclusive way that keeps the community together and productive?

Memes float around like “be nice” but often don’t address HOW to put that into practice.

In this presentation, community leaders from North America, South America, and EMEA will share valuable, practical information and tools to help facilitate open source communities and projects and strategically mediate conflicts.

To give you a sneak peek, this talk will cover topics including:

* Compassionate communication (also known as nonviolent communication)
* Theme-centered interaction
* Empathetic listening
* Code of Conduct & ethics
* Awareness structures & safe spaces

Join us for this presentation if you are looking to learn vital community management skills for conflict resolution!
