What comes after Git?

Are the version control system wars over? It mostly looks like that, as Git has been the default contender for more than the past 10 years. But how did that even happen? And what will it take to dethrone the most dominating piece of software our industry has ever seen? New version control systems are rising on the horizon, with promising new features to simplify development workflows and improve developer experience, that are often inherently complex, or even outright impossible, to do with Git. In this talk, we are going to take a look at the history of version control systems, how new rising young stars like Jujutsu, Sapling or GitButler are innovating in that space today and how to use and integrate them into your existing Git-based project.
