Trust, but Verify - explAIned

Do you trust your family, friends, and neighbors? What about strangers? Your coworkers, boss, and company? What about the application, elevator, or plane you're about to use? Do you trust yourself?

What about AI?

Trust is fundamental to everything that we think, do, and say. And so it is rarely considered. This is risky since trusting too much or too little can have catastrophic consequences. Developing a better, deliberate understanding of trust can be beneficial in many ways, including risk avoidance.

In this two-part talk, we'll start by exploring Trust - what it is and isn't, and when it is enough...and isn't. The second half will focus on Verification - endorsing skepticism and evidence gathering while learning techniques to develop critical thinking skills.

Join me as I Explain "Trust, but Verify" and show how this idea applies to AI, your job, and your life.

NOTE: If you and your audience is not interested in AI, all AI-related elements of this talk can be removed so that the focus is strictly/only on Trust, Risk, Skepticism, and Critical Thinking.
