Agentic AI Architectures with Microsoft Agent Framework — A Hands-On Workshop

Building intelligent systems often requires more than a single AI agent. This hands-on workshop introduces developers to practical orchestration patterns that coordinate multiple specialized agents using the Microsoft Agent Framework in .NET. Agent Framework is the unified, open-source successor to both Semantic Kernel and AutoGen, combining enterprise-ready foundations with cutting-edge multi-agent orchestration patterns.
The workshop blends theory with practice, walking attendees through four core orchestration patterns: Sequential, Concurrent, Group Chat, and Handoff Orchestration.
A key highlight is the introduction of 'workflows', Agent Framework’s graph-based orchestration system, which provides explicit control over multi-agent execution paths with type-based routing, nesting, checkpointing, and human-in-the-loop capabilities.
By the end of the workshop, developers will take away not just reusable pattern templates in C#, but also the architectural judgment for when and how to apply each orchestration style to enterprise-scale problems.
