In this session, we will discuss the Vector API in preview in Java. We will start by discussing SIMD (Single Instruction/Multiple Data) and how we can use it to maximize the speed at which we compute. We will then discuss the setup of using the Vector API, how to establish a species, and how to define and use components and lanes. We will understand and use masking and the different strategies of masking. Then, we will discuss same-lane and cross-lane computation. We will conclude by showing some metrics comparing the results of using Vector API and those not using Vector API.

I have already delivered this content at NFJS events. The target is advanced Java programmers, but it would be fine if programmers of all experience attended.
