Freelancing in Power Platform: My Journey, and How You Can Start Yours
In this session, I share my journey from being a full-time business analyst to becoming a successful Power Platform freelancer. Starting with part-time Power BI training while maintaining my full-time job, I eventually made the leap into freelancing after recognizing the demand for low-code solutions.
Attendees will learn about the pros and cons of freelancing versus traditional employment, highlighting the freedom and earning potential freelancing offers, as well as the trade-offs, like the lack of job security and benefits. I’ll discuss the top technical skills required for a Power Platform freelancer—such as mastering Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate, and low-code development—as well as the essential soft skills like client communication, problem-solving, and project management. Business acumen, including self-marketing, pricing strategies, and contract negotiation, will also be covered.
Drawing from my own experience, I’ll walk through how I built my freelance career. While my path is just one way to succeed, I’ll offer advice for those considering this career move. We will also dive into maximizing earning potential, focusing on the critical factors that set high-earning freelancers apart from the rest.
By the end of the session, participants will have a clear roadmap for transitioning into freelancing, complete with practical steps, resources, and actionable strategies to help them build and sustain a successful freelance career in the Power Platform ecosystem. Whether you're just starting or already on the path, this session will inspire and equip you to thrive as a PowerApps freelancer.
