Event-Driven Architecture: Breaking Conversational Barriers with Distributed AI Agents

If agents are the new apps, what's the operating system?

We currently stand at the convergence of speech, vision, and intelligence as the boundaries of human interactions with machines are blurring into a more seamless, interactive ecosystem. Imagine a world where hundreds of AI agents interact with humans globally, generating hundreds and thousands of conversations per hour.

Building such a system at scale requires a robust, well-designed architecture. As microservices need Event-Driven Architecture(EDA) to scale beyond fragile point-to-point connections, AI agents need a similar architectural shift.

This talk demonstrates a practical approach to building production-ready distributed AI agents beyond simple reactive systems. Through a real-world example, the hands-on live demo will showcase a scalable event-driven architecture for AI agents using Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and Kubernetes.

EDAs are the future of Agentic AI. Why don't we start building them from here?
