Dr. Paul Kilgore has practiced medicine and conducted research across approximately 30 countries over a career spanning 36 years. He has seen how cultural context shapes everything from how symptoms are reported to how treatment decisions are made to how trust is built (or lost) in the clinical encounter.
This session explores the practical realities of cross-cultural medicine: how healthcare delivery systems vary worldwide, how cultural norms affect patient behavior and expectations, how language barriers and health literacy interact, and what clinicians and organizations can do to deliver better care across cultural boundaries.
