Shipping Infrastructure Safely in AWS with Modern IaC and CI/CD Patterns
Infrastructure as Code has transformed how teams build and manage cloud environments, but shipping infrastructure changes safely at scale remains a challenge. As organizations grow in size and complexity with poorly designed pipelines, weak validation, excessive permissions and poor governance can turn simple changes into risky deployments.
This talk presents practical patterns for delivering infrastructure safely using Terraform, GitHub Actions with OIDC, and layered AWS controls and CI/CD workflows, it explores how to structure IaC projects for clarity and reuse, how to design pipelines that catch problems early and how to apply validations, policy enforcement, and security checks before changes reach production, instead of relying on manual approvals, we use automation and guardrails to prevent unsafe changes before, during, and after deployment balancing speed with security and compliance.
