AI-Powered Integrations: AI Agents in Manufacturing: Automating Engineering Change Management
Engineering and production teams work every day in specifications, drawings, quality records, and work instructions. In many plants, those documents still sit in disconnected systems, slowing down change cycles and making traceability harder than it should be. This session explores how autonomous AI agents can process, classify, and route engineering and production documents between PLM and Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&SCM, then extract the key data points required for downstream processes. We will look at how to link unstructured content to BOMs, work instructions, and QA systems so changes are traceable from design through to the shop floor. You will see patterns for reducing the cycle time of engineering change requests and approvals, improving accuracy across content flows, and increasing visibility for audits and compliance reviews. Real examples from production, maintenance, and safety will help you identify where to start and how to scale.
