Automate every layer: Using Terraform to deploy, configure and maintain Azure Kubernetes clusters
Managed Kubernetes clusters are all the rage these days. With a few clicks, you can easily spin up a Kubernetes cluster without having to worry about the underlying workings of the technology. But, where do you go from there?
How can you easily reproduce a Kubernetes setup, configure it, deploy microservices to it, and maintain it? In this talk, I will discuss how we use Terraform to fully automate Azure Kubernetes clusters at a Norwegian public sector agency. Our goals with this project were to automate every step of creating the clusters, setting them up, and continuously deploying our services. Additionally, we attempt to keep the amount of technologies low, to make it easier for new developers to come up to speed.
Automate all the things!
