Session
From Code to Cloud: Building Scalable REST APIs the Right Way
Modern applications demand APIs that are fast, reliable, and secure that can scale from day one. This session walks through building REST APIs with Java Spring Boot from the ground up, covering key patterns and best practices for clean, maintainable code. We’ll dive into database design strategies that balance performance and scalability, explore API design principles that avoid common pitfalls, and highlight security and testing considerations that keep systems production-ready. Finally, we’ll deploy everything to the cloud using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ensuring consistency, repeatability, and speed in releases. The same approach works for launching an MVP quickly and growing it into a full-scale application without costly rewrites. Whether you are building your first API or refining enterprise systems, you will leave with practical guidance for delivering production-grade APIs that scale.
In this session, we will be using SpringBoot, PostgreSQL, and AWS. But the same architecture, designs can be applied to any server frameworks like DotNet, Node, and any databases like SQL Server, MySQL, and more.
