From 40,000 Feet to the Cloud: My Journey into Tech, Data and AI is my story of swapping wings for clouds. Literally!

I started in biology, then spent some time as a flight attendant, before finding my way into the world of Data & AI as a Cloud Solution Architect at Microsoft. This talk, created for International Women’s Day 2025, is about daring to reinvent yourself, embracing lifelong learning and trusting that pivots can lead to the most exciting chapters.

I believe there’s no single “right” path into tech. The skills I built in aviation like staying calm under pressure, communicating clearly and leading with empathy, turned out to be exactly what I needed in the fast-moving world of AI. Along the way, I’ve battled impostor syndrome, leaned on mentors and communities and learned to own my narrative instead of trying to fit into someone else’s.

What I want you to take away is simple: your past is your superpower, curiosity is your fuel and community is your anchor. You don’t need to be a coder to build with AI - tech is for the curious!
