The Foundations of Test Automation

Automation does not exist in vacuum. It doesn't matter if you're a master programmer or a junior automation tester, automation is just a part of a whole world of development that culminates in a product release. This world has a language.

And I'm here to introduce you to the dictionary.

In this session, I'll talk about how code becomes working code in production as part of the software development and testing process in teams and organizations. I'll discuss how automation helps with that, and go through the modern terms of continuous integration and deployment, team development, integration, different types of tests, environment management, and more. Ok, also git and docker.

Everything that you need in order to understand how your new shiny test suite fits in.

But even more so. how everything, including your shiny test suite helps moving toward the goal of iteratively working product.

You may have heard the terms from developers, or dev-ops, or senior testers, and you don't see how these relate to you. It's time to learn.
