Supersets, dashboards, embeddings and pain

Superset, for those unfamiliar, is a powerful open-source tool for creating dashboards and visualizations from data in our databases. In theory, it's a tool that saves a lot of time developing visualizers—more or less attractive—for our users.

My colleague Fabrizio Baldazzi and I, however, found ourselves facing a challenge that, on paper, seemed trivial: embedding Superset dashboards within a corporate application. In practice, due to unclear official documentation and a lack of examples and experiences shared by the community, the path proved anything but simple.

In this talk, we'll recount a real-world use case, analyzing the problems we encountered, the solutions we adopted, and the architectural choices that allowed us to achieve a solid and maintainable result.
The goal is to provide concrete and immediately applicable advice to those who find themselves—or will find themselves—in the same situation, avoiding wasting weeks of work on seemingly secondary aspects.
