While accelerating data production and scale, AI-assisted tools like Rapid and fAIr are also shifting the contributors' role from manual digitization to validation. Does this efficiency come at the cost of contributors' agency or local knowledge?

This poster introduces an ongoing study about how algorithmic assistance reshapes contributor identity, practices, and collaboration in OSM. We will present initial findings that motivate the study and invite community members to participate in it.
