My Boss Wants You to Know We're An AI Company
"My boss wants..."
How many times have you started a sentence with that phrase? How many nickels did you get? Well, I'm about to get another nickel because—wait for it—my boss wants you to know that Redis is an AI company.
To be fair, I think this is true, but probably not in the way you—or my boss—might assume. AI companies are companies that build, use, buy, or sell AI-powered tools and applications. In other words, everyone.
In this talk, we'll explore what this means to you, the developer. Not from a productivity point of view—we all know about Claude Code by now—but from the best possible point of view: an engineering point of view. We'll look at the techniques at your disposal for building AI-powered applications—things like vector search, semantic caching, agent memory, and orchestration. Some of these techniques will use Redis. Some could use Redis. Some won't use Redis at all.
But the techniques, while interesting and important, aren't the hard part. Even the tools to implement them aren't that hard. The hard part is when your code hits production and starts to scale. We'll talk about that too, because not only do you need to build AI-powered applications, you need to own them.
