Beyond Screenshots: Turning Unreal Engine Worlds into Interactive Web Experiences
Every Unreal Engine project eventually faces the same challenge: how do you let people experience your work without asking them to download tens of gigabytes, own a gaming PC, or install your application?
In this session, I'll demonstrate how I transformed an Unreal Engine environment into a browser-accessible interactive experience using Gaussian Splatting and an entirely open-source pipeline. Starting from Unreal Engine rendering, I'll walk through image capture, reconstruction, optimization, and deployment using web technologies that make complex 3D scenes accessible through a simple URL.
The session goes beyond Gaussian Splatting itself. We'll explore how open-source tools can complement Unreal Engine, enabling developers to create interactive portfolios, playable demos, XR previews, virtual production reviews, and lightweight game experiences for anyone with a browser.
