Barriers impacting ethnically diverse women entering NFT-land

Women have accounted for 16% of NFT artists and 4% of total NFT buyers globally since February 2020.

There are fewer people of colour and even fewer women of colour.

Imposter syndrome and a lack of awareness/ education are barriers to entry for many women.

When it comes to ethnically diverse women, factors rooted in the complexity of culture and identity add to this barrier.

Our own individual journeys into NFTs led us to creating Gold Bangle Club to break down the barriers and make the space more accessible to South Asian women.

Our session at NFT NYC London will aim to:

- Uncover barriers, including cultural influence, gender norms and societal expectations
- Explore how NFT projects can overcome these barriers
- Explore the role of the ally to increase diversity in NFTs
- Q&A
