Everyone keeps telling me we're in a fast-paced industry. But after spending 2 decades working in it, I'm not so sure. Even though our tools are ever better, we keep doing the same things. Best case, that means we're not fully taking advantage of recent possibilities, worst case we're looking at higher operating costs and increased manpower spend.

With the speed increase we are getting from LLM-assisted development, we are amplifying that problem like never before. We keep using these old paradigms, and keep cutting the same corners. And I'll tell you, if you run into a wall faster, it'll hurt more.
