Child-Centered Governance Approach for West Africa
Egypt has increasingly recognized child online safety as a central pillar of its digital governance agenda. Existing legal frameworks, including the Egyptian Child Law No. 12 of 1996 and the Anti-Cybercrime Law No. 175 of 2018, establish protections against exploitation and harmful digital content. At the same time, emerging policy discussions aim to strengthen safeguards related to parental consent, platform accountability, and children’s digital wellbeing.
