Implementing Networking QoS for Containers with eBPF and Cilium

Kubernetes supports three levels of Quality of Service (QoS) to make decisions about evicting pods when the node is running out of resources. However, none of the CNI plugins support network QoS out of the box. The Linux kernel has several options for implementing Network QoS, and they’ve existed for a long time now. Each method has its own pros and cons. Attend this session for a walkthrough of how we’re extending Cilium’s Bandwidth Manager to implement scalable traffic prioritization with eBPF.
