Session
Using and creating collections in Postman 'like a Pro'.
Almost all of us have used some API client like Postman, Insomnia, Paw, ... to test our own APIs or experiment with third party ones.
In this session I will explain how to:
- Visualize/render responses.
- Collaborate using forks, PRs, comments, GitHub
- Choosing the best type/scope of variables for each situation
- Use pre-request scripts to parse input parameters or set variables
- Use test scripts to evaluate responses and set variables
- Use JSON schema to validate input parameter and API responses
* etc.
The content of this session is based on my experience of several years using Postman, but especially creating the ArcGIS Location Services collections 🗺️ (https://www.postman.com/arcgis-developer) that we use from @Esri with the goal of improving the experience of developers who want to test or improve in the use of our APIs.
