Most developers treat community as a place to collect contacts, attend events, and add people on LinkedIn. But community can be much more than basic networking. When approached intentionally, it can become one of the most powerful accelerators for your career.

Over the past four years, Hilda has built her career on the foundations of opportunity, community, contribution, and relationships. In this session, she breaks down 8 practical ways to turn community involvement into real career opportunities, from finding meaningful mentors and building relationships that open doors to positioning yourself for collaboration, leadership, and work opportunities. She’ll also unpack the mistakes that quietly limit growth, including chasing visibility without building genuine relationships.

Attendees will leave with a practical action plan for turning the communities they already belong to into platforms for learning, relationships, visibility, and career growth.
