Intersex Lived Experiences and Community Building

In recent years the intersex movement have achieved many milestones regarding protection of intersex human rights. But despite this we still have a long road ahead. How do people born with variations in their sex characteristics find each other and decide to become activists? How coming out as intersex can work as a powerful awareness raising tool? What role does community building play in the fight to protect intersex human rights?

Irene Kuzemko (she/her) has been involved in the intersex movement since 2015 and works as the Capacity & Community Building Officer of OII Europe, the European intersex umbrella organisation. She will speak about the intersex community, the history of the intersex movement in Europe and about her capacity and community building work at OII Europe. Join to learn more about intersex issues and about what you can do to support your intersex friends!
