Hands-On GraphQL: Building Smarter APIs
Curious about GraphQL but never had the chance to dive in? Whether you’ve heard the buzz or always wanted to try it out, this workshop is your opportunity to get hands-on and learn by doing. In this half-day session, you’ll explore the fundamentals of GraphQL and build your first API from scratch using .NET and Hot Chocolate.
To make things a bit more… prehistoric, you’ll be creating an API for a fictional dinosaur park, think visitor management, dino facts, and secure feeding schedules. Along the way, you’ll implement queries, mutations, and subscriptions, and add essential features like authentication and schema organization.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll walk away with a fully functioning GraphQL API and the skills to build your own modern (and hopefully less dangerous) backend systems.
No prior GraphQL experience required, just bring your curiosity and your favorite IDE.
Requirements:
- .NET 8 or higher
- Visual Studio/Rider/VS Code
