Navigating Java’s geospatial world

In the past decade, digital maps and location-based services have become a natural part of daily life — from digital maps to location sharing and geographically enhanced software. The complex field of geospatial data and functions has found its way to end users: Points of Interest, Routing, open geodata and sharing live locations. In other words: spatial is not special anymore. Yet developers can easily get lost when integrating geospatial data and location intelligence in their applications.

This session introduces the fundamentals of geography, geometrical operations, spatial data and open standards. Having your backpack filled with these tools you can start crafting your first app and integrate it with other geospatial mapping tools.
