Tackling challenges in cross-cultural workspaces

Working in international teams often leads to misunderstandings that have nothing to do with code, architecture, or skills — but everything with culture. Collaborating with people is already hard, but cultural differences require additional awareness and skills. Over the past 20 years I have struggled to find healthy and effective ways to work in a cross-cultural context. In this session I will share my learnings and help you better understand how people from different contexts think and act.

If you are working in a culturally diverse team, working with clients abroad, or simply want to join a highly interactive session (without live coding), this session is for you. Together we’ll explore a few practical concepts from social psychology and run a short survey to reflect on how culture influences our behavior and decision-making.

You will leave with concrete insights and practical techniques that you can immediately apply in your daily work.

Tip: bring your colleagues so you can learn from each other and apply these principles together.
