SQL + dbt + Microsoft Fabric: Take your Data Warehouse Development to the next level
For years, we’ve built data warehouses using SQL, relying on views and stored procedures to solve the problem… until the solution starts to grow. When logic is spread across dozens or hundreds of objects, it becomes difficult to understand dependencies, determine what should run first and what should run next, keep documentation up to date, and ensure that changes don’t break anything.
In this session, we’ll explore how to modernize data warehouse development using SQL, dbt, and Microsoft Fabric. We’ll start with a simple idea: continue leveraging the power and familiarity of SQL, while applying best practices such as modularity, lineage, testing, and documentation.
A talk for those who still believe in the value of the data warehouse but want to build it using modern tools and practices.
