Understanding how Production Orders work in Business Central

Production Orders are used to manage the conversion of purchased items into manufacturing goods. Production Orders goes through varios areas on the shop floor (Work Centers / Machine Centers). Before you start, material planning is done to calculate how many orders (production and purchase) is required to fulfill the demand.

Product Design (BOM and Routings) is the heart of the Operations Management. It will drive Material Planning, Production Capacity and manufacturing Execution. The Replenishment Orders could be created in different ways and managing their status is key to communicate data across different departments in the company. Recording Materials consumption, Time spent and Quantity received of a particular product could be done in different ways in Business Central depending on the business process.

In this session, we´ll show the main Manufacturing functionality in Business Central and what needs to be taken into account when implementing it.
