Session
Agents in Action: Building Real-World Features with AI Orchestration
The term "AI agent" is everywhere, but what does it look like to actually build with them? In this session, we’ll move beyond the chat box and into the IDE to show how agentic workflows can solve real development hurdles.
Using a live demo application, this session will show how tools like Gemini Code Assist, Jules, and Antigravity can help build and ship new features. Each will be treated as a specific team member—a paired programmer, intern, and manager.
Attendees will learn from live examples:
* The Feature Walkthrough: How to use AI agents to scaffold, refine, and test a new feature from scratch in a demo app.
* Mapping Roles to Tools: Strategies for deciding which agent is best suited for specific coding tasks to maximize reliability.
* Orchestration Patterns: How to integrate these tools into your existing workflow without losing control of the codebase.
By the end of this session, attendees will have a clear, hands-on understanding of how to use AI agents as a force multiplier for their development team, along with the practical "dos and don'ts" of AI-driven feature development.
This was presented at a GDG Kansas City in February. The content will be updated to cover any changes since things in this area are changing fast.
While helpful for beginners, the benefits are greater for attendees with more experience, as they can better delegate tasks to different tools. Preferred duration is an hour.
