The web has always been an interface between human intention and digital systems. But for most of its history, it has made humans do the translation work.

First, the web helped us find information. Then it learned to capture attention. Then it became a place to buy, book, bank, compare, subscribe and self-serve. Now, with AI, automation and adaptive interfaces, the web is starting to interpret intent.

The next generation of digital experiences will not merely ask users to click through journeys; they will help users express what they mean, clarify what they want, and act safely on their behalf.

Because the future of the web will not depend on us adding chat windows and removing buttons for the sake of it. We will have to learn to build systems that understand people better, ask smarter questions, and know when to act and when not to.
