Partnering to Make change in 2 organizations = Greater accessibility

All of us experienced the unprecedented changes that March of 2020 brought. With it came new opportunities to advocate for changes in technology, processes, and the culture of organizations. Lights were quickly shined on things that needed improvement to fit with this new way of working.

The shift to working from home required large numbers of employees to rely heavily on conferencing tools. The accessibility of these tools, while always important, suddenly became critical. Internally, Minnesota IT Services developed new strategies to address these issues. It became very clear that this was not enough. These strategies were not effective enough on their own. Through relationship building and shared advocacy they partnered with one vendor's employees. Their shared vision: find better ways to escalate the accessibility issues. The results included:
• Better ways to report issues.
• Improved communication about needed improvements.
• A more inclusive tool.

During this session you will hear from both Minnesota IT Services and Cisco employees. Together they partnered to advocate from both sides to make changes happen.
