"Things" in use in production, medicine, power generation, and much more, have a much longer life cycle than office IT systems. This often leads to security problems, but also to difficulties in IT operations.

At the same time, digitalization requires flexibility and performance that Things themselves often cannot afford.

Edge computing can implement these tasks much more easily, flexibly, securely and thus more sustainably than would be possible directly at Things.
