How to Become a 10x Developer

They say that some developers are so good, they are 10 times as effective as average. The discussion on this issue often centres on personal technical skills – how well you can write code. But in this talk I would like to teach you another way to magnify your impact: by making “2x Engineers” out of the people around you. This mindset of giving will not only affect a team whilst you are there, but also for many years after you are gone.

With real-life stories and experiences, I’ll share practical tips around subjects like the following:

- How to create a learning environment through praise, humility and empathy.

- Why knowledge transfer should be a core business.

- How to approach code review, decision making and the distribution of responsibilities when teaching and knowledge transfer are in focus.

- The essence of true leadership: empowering others to be the best they can be. Anyone can be a great leader in some form.

Today, software development and delivery is a team sport. The true measure of your effectiveness as an engineer is not what you, but what your team achieves. Will you help your team to achieve greatness?
