Communicating With "Non-Data" People
All the data processing in the world doesn't matter if your audience doesn’t understand what’s important about it or what it has to do with them. Whether you're trying to educate or persuade, it’s not enough to show statistics. Even charts and other visualizations only get part of the way there. And when your audience is non-technical, it’s even harder.
How do you develop and communicate a narrative when your audience doesn’t know what an F1 score is and couldn’t care less about scaling or Euclidean distance? How do you make your point in a way that your audience can grasp and put into action?
I’ll go over some things to help translate the insights you gain from the data into a clear message for your audience to take away.
